It is a true Christmas treat and a major personal privilege to bring you a Beyond the Curb home tour of renown interior designer Cathy Kincaid. Cathy’s lovely 1918 Dallas home is every bit as charming and thoughtfully designed as you would expect it to be. With a masterful eye, Cathy uses pattern in perfect proportion. She strives to make her design equally layered and refined, while still being comfortably chic.
ABPA Christmas Home Tour
I was incredibly thrilled to be the digital media sponsor of the ABPA Home Tour here in Dallas this year. There were four beautiful homes that were included in tour, and I am so excited to share two of them with you all today.
Chic Peek with AnnBlair Housefield
The minute you meet AnnBlair Housefield, you want to be in her orbit. She is magnetic, charming, funny, and effortlessly chic. Her home equally embodies all those qualities. Despite being a 1946 home lightly touched up over the years, this West Highland Park home in Dallas is still very relevant. AnnBlair was not afraid to use color, especially in the two darling girls’ nurseries featured. This is an ideal example of young family making fresh waves in an older home without losing the intended aesthetic.
Kips Bay Dallas 2021
Kips Bay has made its way back to Dallas this year. I truly enjoyed every aspect of the exterior design of this home, as well these favorite interior moments I featured below. Show houses give designers the capacity to design without limits, so I always find it insightful what they choose to do. This home had so many beautiful and complimenting layers. I know you will love to see.
Beyond the Curb with Pam Kelley Designs
Many of the homes I often tour are grand in size and bold in design, but the home of Pam Kelley Design brings different elements to the table. Her quaint one story home is the epitome of charm and timeless taste. Her kitchen is the place you want to pour a glass of wine and watch while she cooks something delicious, and her front porch is where you want to sit in the Texas heat and chat with the neighbors from afar. This is a home that feels welcoming, stylish, comfortable, and collected.
Patina Homes
Occasionally a new coffee table book hits the market and it is beautiful to look at for a day…and then you never open it again. When you have a true stand-out and staple book, you find yourself referring to it over and over again. The new book Patina Homes by Steve and Brooke Giannetti most certainly belongs in the stand-out category. While their beautiful California home is noteworthy for it’s light-filled architecture, effortlessly inviting decor, and lushly sophisticated gardens, the Gianetti’s also focus on architecture and interiors for clients as well.
Southern Accents
I was emailing with designer Lisa Hilderbrand recently and she mentioned how she read the “About” section on my website for the first time. What caught her attention was the mention of my love of Southern Accents magazine. Do you remember it? Some kids are addicted to video games, I was addicted to Southern Accents.
Simply Sophisticated Shower
Don’t you love when you work on something over a period of time and it all comes together seamlessly?! This weekend was one of those weekends. Over the summer, I decided I wanted to throw a hometown shower for one my oldest and dearest friends, Anne Marie. We have such a long history together with our families, that it only felt fitting to throw her a party to remember. I knew it had to reflect her vibrant and colorful style. She has a Kate Spade decorum that truly embodies her vivacious and bold personality. If you truly know someone well, it is easy to find the perfect palette to celebrate them.
The shower was held at The Birchwood Hotel in our hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. I was having lunch there with my mom and grandmother this summer, when we looked out at the boxwood walled courtyard and knew immediately that it was the perfect place for the luncheon. I teamed up with Anne Marie’s Maid of Honor, and together we worked back and forth to make this a truly special Saturday in January. We decided to go for black and white stripes mixed with pops of pink and gold. It had such a fun and flirty feel. Everyone felt right at ease in this enchanting courtyard setting, with the effortless excitement of constantly passed mimosas and always flowing Chardonnay.
I have always been a big believer that if you are going to do something, do it right. No one likes a boring party, and a bridal luncheon is hopefully a once in a lifetime party! It is a great way to celebrate a friendship, a bride, and an upcoming marriage that is surely one for the story books. #OnceUponATimm

Walls of boxwood make the ideal backdrop for any party! I knew the gold chivari chairs were a necessity for this intimate courtyard space.
Tiered levels of flowers in gold mercury vases gave a nice shine and reflective quality to the table.
A mimosa bar with the wedding hashtag monogrammed on the napkins created by Memorable Wedding on Etsy. The server also put strawberry in the champagne for a nice touch!
I came across this Kate Spade tray that has “Fancy Another ?” written on the inside. We used some of the extra party favors of personalized champagne bottles in the background.
The bride! Could she be more Town & Country worthy in this moment. Playful, preppy, and totally embracing this feminine moment to shine as the bride to be!
Do you love the napkins!?! I mean how can you not! They allow for any party to become personal. I knew I wanted these to be my gift to the bride, so I didn’t hesitate to contact my favorite monogram instagram friend LB Originals. She did a superb job creating a 4 letter monogram!!! The best!!
The present table was shared with the game table. That glittered gold fish bowl was created by the Maid of Honor to house everyone’s favorite memory of the bride. It also makes a huge difference to frame any game instructions. Much more polished and put together!
The cake was simple, yet detailed with fresh roses and gold foil dots. Sweet Divas Chocolates absolutely blew away every guest’s tastebuds with this vanilla and fresh strawberry cake. Sadly, I only had a bite of my friend’s cake in the chaos of the party. My biggest regret of the day!
These notecards were another great find by the Maid of Honor. She had guests write down their favorite Date Night ideas and Words of Wisdom. These were then put into a photo album and given to the Bride at the end of the event.
I insisted on printing my own menus for the party. I found this great template by Grace Designs on Etsy. The header was ideal for my theme. I was able to download the menu straight into Word and play with the other fonts and colors on the menu. 
Could you ask for a more perfect bride!! 
Pretty and playful tablescape!
Flowing wine and conversation. It is always great to mix people up and keep some familiar faces together. Showers are a great time to mix extended family and likewise groups of friends. 
The bride’s seat! I think it is always important to dedicate a seat just for her!

Personalized freixenet champagne bottles as party favors! Kate Spade place cards made for an ideal addition to every seat. Like any good hostess knows, place cards are very important!

Seasonal Snow
I just returned from a quick weekend in Aspen. It was great to see deer, snow, and mountains surrounded by a cozy fireplace and warm drinks. There is something about the mountains that puts you in a festive spirit with a calming altitude! I was also able to sneak peek a spectacular project by a renown designer. Hopefully I can share that with you all soon (it is pretty swoon worthy!).
I know I have posted many homes from Aspen in the past, but this one by David Easton is just too pretty for words. Part Scandinavian provincial and part timeless Swedish, this home has every tranquil element of a mountain retreat. Who wouldn’t want to ring in the holidays here!

I love the light wash and paneling of this area. Hues of soft blues and shades of cream are welcoming and inviting.
More soft ambience and well upholstered seating. A warm and intimately scaled room. 
Hand-painted walls and a white wash dining table make for a light-filled dining room that works all year long. 
Patterns compliment each other perfectly in this living room. Love the boxwood urns and glass lamps.
Another stairway. The architectural details and woodwork give this home the pleasant warmth of a mountain chalet.
