Sadly, the boxwood blight has arrived in Dallas. While my business is called The Potted Boxwood, I am no horticultural expert. Yesterday, I decided to do a live instagram discussion with garden expert Carmen Johnston to get the scoop on how to identify blight, how best to care for boxwood, and what to plant in place of boxwood if you do have the blight! I hope you all enjoy this discussion.
You will also see I linked a few of the products that we discuss in the live, as well as some resources Carmen mentioned. Thank you, Carmen for you time and expertise!

THE BLIGHT
what it looks like:

How to know and what to do?
Look for black streaking
Leaves will start to drop
Spores will start appearing
First thing to do if you are questioning it:
call local county extension service
double bag a sample and take it to them
do not bring it to a garden center or anywhere else- it is highly “contagious”
