You never quite forget your first crush. In this case, I am talking about my first design crush. In 2003, I was flipping through my mom’s Southern Accents magazine and stumbled upon the Dallas Showhouse designed by Cathy Kincaid. That issue remained in my nightstand for years, and was devastatingly lost during a renovation. Cathy’s interiors in the Showhouse turned a love for pretty things into an obsession. Every room in that Showhouse was abundantly beautiful, luxuriously layered, yet had a chic comfort.
This is why it comes as no surprise that her new book encompasses all elements of design and style I adore. There is no such thing as too much pattern, too much blue & white, and too much beautiful. She is the master of timeless interiors and understated grandeur, all while being the epitome of chic. Her new book, The Well Adorned Home, is something to treasure for inspiration and an inside eye into her liveable and luxurious design.
(I swear I am not playing favorites…)
