I have to admit it, I have an addiction. I was recently given a foot massager as a gift, and it has greatly dropped my productivity levels. This may sound strange, but this heavenly gift has heated shiatsu massaging magic that leads me to wake up extra early just so I can sip coffee, watch the news, read magazines, and stroll through my iPad all while getting the perfect massage from my toes to me heels. I am also very happy with this new found addiction, since it has forced me to seriously devour all my favorite design publications every day. I am especially in love with the January-February issue of House Beautiful, that featured a bold and enduring residence designed by Philip Gorrivan.
Gorrivan’s design talent in the world of interiors is breathtakingly fresh, dramatic, and ultra chic. His fearless approach to pattern is complimented by the contrasting patterns he mixes with them. Gorrivan’s ability to seek out his client’s tastes enable all of his homes to have the perfect punch of personality and style. Who says Mondays have to be dull? After these images, you will be ready to take on whatever color is thrown at you!
P.S. A big thank you for all the birthday wishes. Especially to my fab friend Jennifer at The Belclaire House for a wonderful birthday post! XO
A striking NYC townhouse with the right amount of bold color and classic incorporation.
Who wouldn’t want to grow up in this effortlessly chic boys room?!
From one of my favorite House Beautiful issues, a small NYC apartment kitchen with a glossy and fresh atmosphere.
A sweet cottage style living room. I adore the nail head trim side table- perfection!
Gorrivan’s Connecticut retreat just oozes charm with a hint of sophistication.
How can you not just obsess over this mirrored hallway that is kicking with character! Via House Beautiful
A palette of purple hues. Gorrivan’s wallpaper application is unexpected yet beyond enviable in every home he does.
Look at his mix of color and prints.
A fun space-saving shelf that doubles as a striking headboard with it’s incorporation of fabric.
Black and white walls give a barely muted entrance into a room full of bright wallpaper, and a sheep nonetheless. Via My Design Chic
a lovely den and shelving scenarios. Those pillows are divine! Via Elle Decor
A shot of that home that I have been loving in the January-February issue of House Beautiful. Gorrivan is a master of the walls!
And a bedroom in the same home as above. Why not wallpaper the ceiling. It just envelops you into this room.
A basement made into a wine cellar. When I have a basement one day, this is happening.
Marvelous wallpaper that can endure centuries. So timeless and lovely.
Blue book shelving (sorry for the poor quality). I could just stare at these shelves all day. Too pretty not to post.
