As a native Floridian turned Texan, I know a thing or two about heat. Currently, it seems as if summer has jumped right in and that it won’t be departing anytime soon. So while it is here, I am also going to jump…right into the pool and into my weekend!
Happy Friday and Happy Everything!

I am attracted to green grass around pools. It allows for a more natural and inviting feel. Photo source: Architectural Digest
I love black and white ticking, but this gray and white makes me want to re-think that! It is softer, yet refined. Photo by Francesco Lagnese for House Beautiful

While you have to have a lot of land, I prefer pools that are further away or on the side of a house. Photo source: Pinterest
I spy some potted boxwoods around this home and pool area of the creator of the Joe Fresh fashion brand. So clean, classic, and modern….just like his clothes! Photo source: Canadian House & Home
How wonderful are those Crepe Myrtles right on the edge of the pool? Although I bet that pool looks like it is covered in white specs of flower petals during the summer. #Truth Photo by the talented Frederic Lagrange

Nancy and Bill Morton’s Palm Beach home has the perfect symmetry of topiaries, gate, urns, and palm trees. Blue, White and Green…The perfect color combo! Photo source: Architectural Digest
Good taste can be genetic, and this Hampton’s home of Patricia Herrera Lansing (Carolina’s daughter) is proof. Love the pathway to the pool and the gorgeous blue hydrangeas. Chic Simplicity. Photo source: Habitually Chic from Elle Decor.
Fashion icon Tory Burch’s Southampton home. What a striking black trellis, surrounded by so much detail in the white moldings. Again- grass lines the pool! Photo source: Vogue
The dark blue of the pool allows for the perfect reflection. Photo source: Architectural Digest
