Summer Scents

Candles always make for a reliable and universally pleasing gift. Most people love to receive them, however some people never use them. My mom often will buy candles that look pretty and smell wonderful. The only problem is that she never lights them. They sit there. For a long time. Sometimes collecting dust (if you have ever seen a combination of dust and wax- it is not pretty). What a waste!

Who wouldn’t want their space to smell wonderful?  I often burn through candles fairly quickly. I know what scents I love, and what scents I loathe (I’m looking at you vanilla!). Here are a few of my favorite summer scents- perfect for a birthday gift, a hostess gift, and always perfect for you!

Have a great weekend!

The Jonathan Adler Muse Blanc Candle. It smells of fresh cut florals! Not to mention, it comes in such a cool vessel.

This is a staple in my house. I love Jasmine, and this candle is always in my bedroom. It smells heavenly! Diptyque Jasmin Candle

Lafco candles are not only wonderful to smell, they are a room’s ideal little accessory. The beautiful glass can be washed and used as a small vase, pen holder, make-up brush holder, cotton ball jar…etc. etc. I really enjoy the Dining Room candle. It is very fresh and subtle.

I have to confess, I have burned through three of these NEST Grapefruit candles so far this summer. The ironic part is that I don’t even like the smell of grapefruit. This version grapefruit is blended with coriander blossom and lily of the valley. I get compliments from visitors EVERY time!

The first time I purchased this Laduree candle was in Paris. I have yet to see any candle burn more beautifully. This candle is Laduree’s Geranium Rose available at La Maison Couture.  It is the quintessential summer candle. Makes a fantastic gift!

Jo Malone’s French Lime Blossom is a wonderful candle to light when you want to create a calming, clean, and refreshing environment. I use the bath oil in this too! Available at Neiman Marcus.

Aerin is the ultimate tastemaker, which is why it is not surprising that her candles are so beautifully made. Her Pink Climbing Rose Candle is equal parts feminine and chic. The packaging itself makes for a gorgeous gift.

Baies by Diptyque is reliable all year round. I feel it is almost overused in pictures on the internet and social media, but then every time I buy it I remember why. It is the perfect candle for every discerning nose.
