I think everyone needs a good dose of New York City every so often. There is something about its vibrancy that is good for the soul. My very quick trip basically revolved around good food, fabulous friends, and amazing art.
If you are heading there soon, I highly recommend visiting The Whitney Museum to see Toyin Ojih Odutola’s amazing exhibit. Beautiful pastels create a poetic story of the juxtaposition of wealth, progression, and culture. It is truly spectacular and I am so proud of my college roommate, Melinda Lang, for curating such phenomenal work. It is also worth checking out all the amazing talent in Laura Owens‘ new exhibit there. If you want a great treat, go to David Zwirner’s gallery to see Yayoi Kusama’s new exhibit. Beware: the line wait is over 2 hours most days! I was not willing to brave the 30 degree weather for it, but many did!
If you can’t get to NYC soon, I hope you enjoy some wonderful West Village townhouses that I captured this weekend! XO
Toyin Ojih Odutola is masterful in her use of color. This piece was my favorite.
Laura Owens‘ work on display is invigorating and eye-catching.
I wish the light was friendlier to catch this amazing high gloss door.
I love the navy painted doors and windows. It really adds a chic pop.
Bold and very beautiful.
This photo doesn’t even do it justice. It was so lovely to walk around West Village in the evening.
A great townhouse and courtyard in West Chelsea.
More beautiful architecture and classic door in West Chelsea.
