Palm Beach EstateS
While in Florida, I feel it is important to share some iconic Floridian design. I think there is no better place to start than Palm Beach, The Land of Lilly. Lilly Pulitzer’s name evokes preppy southern nights, a chic lobster dinner on a sandy beach, and pool parties in the midst of palm tress. Lilly is all about bright colors, bold prints, and classic style. While not for everyone, it is something to be appreciated and respected even far away from Worth Avenue and the beaches of Sea Island.
There is a great deal of admiration for the New York City socialite who started a juice stand in Palm Beach wearing her own colorful shift dresses, and then turned that into a clothing empire that is still thriving today. Lilly Pulitzer’s Palm Beach residence provides the perfect backdrop for pool parties and cocktail gatherings. After passing away in 2013, her family quickly sold the classic Palm Beach estate allowing a glimpse into the colorful Life of Lilly.
Since there are not very many photos of the rather run-down Pulitzer estate, I decided to also incorporate some other homes with quintessential Palm Beach flair. Old Florida design may seem “old,” but it is also a reminder of the classically laid-back way of life.

A bedroom in the Lilly Pulitzer Palm Beach home. What an interesting bed!
The living area of Lilly Pulitzer’s home. There is no skimping on color or pattern! I wish I could have purchased that pink sofa (not kidding in the slightest).
The dining room area of the home. So Florida in every way. Please take a look at that life size birdcage!
Outdoor entertaining with Lilly. Everything seems so relaxed about this home. I am sure some fabulous conversation occurred around here.
A living area in the Pulitzer Palm Beach home. A more collected and traditional space.
The pool that hosted a thousand pool parties. Here it is in the daytime, below you can find the nighttime ambience. Everything around is so lush and tropical.
Would you like a Lilly towel to dry off??

The absolutely gorgeous Palm Beach home of Nancy Morton featured in Architectural Digest.
Their pink and green dining room, a classic combination for Floridian style.
The living room full of blue and white, with some tropical undertones.
A perfect guest room. I like how they used the red coral and toile chair to give the room some dimension. The Morton home is a fine reflection of tropical traditional.

At the Lauder home, a more current and classic library within the Florida style home. Totally timeless.
